Official FAA learning statement

Recall teaching methods - process / organize material / course of training

What this means for your checkride

A course of training is a complete series of studies leading to a specific goal, such as a certificate of completion or graduation. The instructor organizes the material into a logical sequence of lessons and blocks of learning that build toward the training objective.

Instructors must be able to organize material into a structured course so learners progress logically toward the certificate or rating.

The common trap

Teaching individual maneuvers in isolation is not a course of training; the lessons must be organized into an integrated sequence.

Before your checkride (14 CFR 61.39)

A code on your test report is an area of deficiency. An authorized instructor must review it with you and endorse that review before you take the practical test, and the examiner may revisit it during the oral. Study it until you can explain it out loud, not just recognize the answer.
