Recall regulations - pilot qualifications / privileges / responsibilities / crew complement

What this means for your checkride

A person may act as a required pilot flight crewmember only if that person holds the appropriate certificates, ratings, and authorizations for the operation. The pilot in command is directly responsible for, and is the final authority as to, the operation of the aircraft, and may deviate from a rule during an in-flight emergency to the extent required to meet that emergency.

Pilots must know the certification requirements to act as a crewmember and the scope of the pilot in command's authority and responsibility.

A code on your test report is an area of deficiency. An authorized instructor must review it with you and endorse that review before you take the practical test, and the examiner may revisit it during the oral. Study it until you can explain it out loud, not just recognize the answer.
