Recall regulations - emergency equipment

What this means for your checkride

Certain airplanes may not be operated unless equipped with the emergency equipment listed in the rule. Each item must be inspected to ensure continued serviceability and immediate readiness, be readily accessible to the crew, and clearly indicate its method of operation. Hand fire extinguishers must be provided for use in crew, passenger, and cargo compartments as specified.

Required emergency equipment must be present and usable when it is actually needed.

A code on your test report is an area of deficiency. An authorized instructor must review it with you and endorse that review before you take the practical test, and the examiner may revisit it during the oral. Study it until you can explain it out loud, not just recognize the answer.
