TI-30XA Scientific Calculator
A working scientific calculator with the TI-30XA function set, so you can rehearse the keystrokes behind the performance, weight-and-balance, and wind-triangle math on the FAA writtens. Trig in degrees or radians, logs, powers, roots, and a running memory.
Why rehearse on this calculator
Fumbling the calculator on test day costs time you do not have, especially on the density altitude, true airspeed, and wind-correction questions that stack several steps. Practicing on the same simple function set you will use at the testing center means the arithmetic is automatic and your attention stays on the aviation, not the buttons.
Set the angle mode first. Trig on the pilot writtens is in degrees, so leave it on DEG unless a question is explicitly in radians. Reach the inverse trig, ex, 10x, and the square root with the 2nd key. The calculator rules can vary by test and testing center, so confirm what is allowed for your appointment.
